Cádiz

Cadiz is the southernmost province of the Iberian Peninsula, is only approximately 14 kilometers of the African continent. Its economy is based mainly in the commercial sector due to the presence of shipyards and activities of the port area. In its 260 kilometers of Atlantic coastline emphasize its long sandy beaches and many of them not yet urbanized or highly exploited tourist. The province borders to the north with the provinces of Seville and Huelva, on the east by the province of Malaga, on the southwest by the Atlantic Ocean, east to the Mediterranean Sea, and south to the Strait of Gibraltar and the British colony of Gibraltar.

Phoenicians, Greeks and Romans peopled this province, leaving us important testimonies of its presence throughout the Cadiz coast. The history of Cadiz is typical of a city marked by its strategic military and commercial situation, one of the oldest Phoenician settlements in the West.
